Not even close to the best team ever. Perhpas not even the best team this season.
You need things like depth in goal to be even considered for an honor like that. You also need less injuries.
You also need to be able to string together multiple winning seasons.

Well, I am a huge Sabres fan, and I do think they are the best team in the NHL this season. Best team ever? NO. And they should make a pretty good playoff run, it should be exciting.
Now to you, go away, you are nothing more then a Bandwagon fan. If you consider Buffalo the best team ever, you are very uneducated. And I think that a real Sabres or Max fan, would actually take the time to figure out how to spell his f'en name. Moron. Now go away, go join the evergrowing Pengiuns Bandwagon, they still have room for you.

Well, the Sabres are definitely not the best team ever. There are too many good teams out of Montreal, Edmonton, and Detroit to say the Sabres are the best ever. However, given that they have had so many injuries this season and still win games proves they are a solid team. My greatest complaint against the Sabres is that they don't play any defense. They can score a lot of goals, but they're going to give up a lot of goals too. Any team that plays a trap defense can beat them easily. Look at what happened a couple nights ago against Minnesota. A team that plays tight defense forced a lot of neutral zone turnovers, leading to Minnesota tacking up 5 goals vs. the 1 by Buffalo. If Ruff can't get his team to take care of their own end, there's no way Buffalo can win the cup.

First off, I have to make an assumption that you only watch the Sabres because you think the players are hot, or something of that nature. You make Buffalo Sabres fans look bad, and this makes other people assume that all of us say things like "they are they bestest team evvvver". Second, I am a huge Sabres fan and love hockey. Would you even know what an offiside is? If you love AFINOGENOV so much, why don't you go learn how to spell his name. I am deeply embarassed by people like you, just to let you know.

the sabres are a very good hockey club,i quite frankly am tired of listening to people put them down.the sabres are not my team i am a redwings fan but i know a good club when i see one and i am looking at one in the sabres.any team that can have so many injuries and still win deserves respect.they do have good defensive players unlike someone mentioned earlier,if he hadn't noticed all teams lose a game no one in hockey is undefeated.give the sabres some credit they are a great team,you don't get to be number one in your division by being lousy,at many points this year they have been number one in all of the nhl.

They're great, I love them but they are a far cry from the best team ever.
Complaints about their D are well founded, they are very far from a lock on the Cup. I hope they pull it off but....I have no delusions of grandeur and don't take it as a certainty.
In fact even if they were the best team ever, there is no guaranteed outcome in the playoffs--that's why they are so exciting. 8th place teams knock off 1st place teams all the time. Don't let your emotions trick you and for goodness sakes don't jinx them with a lot of attitude!
Go Sabs, hurry back Max!

i think they rock. spelling of afinogenov aside (who cares if u cant spell it right). we've got an amazing team this year and even if we didnt i'd still love them. we have a legitimate chance at winning the Cup this year, especially now that were getting our guys back. best team ever? well no...best sabres team to date? possibly. whichever way i love them and there awesome!!

i absolutely love the sabres. we're in a bit of a slump but i believe in our boys! seriously though clearly we're great cuz half of the team is call-ups and we are still kicking butt. statistically we should be losing every game with all of these call ups but even they rock... it's our year!! go sabres
