I'm trying to locate crash test data or someone that has a 97 sc1. I'm trying to get an idea of what structural damage may have happened when I was rear-ended. SC1 was at a stop, other car hit at 30mph.

Thank you.

I've been to the body shop... I want an idea of what could be before I pay to have the panels taken off

Best to ask the body shop!
But, from my long experience in auto body work, i'd say most of the inner side panels would be damaged, maybe the trunk floor, and the rear panel and most of the reinforcements! This is no time to argue! If the estimator said those parts are damaged, he's probably correct!
And, the way the laws are now, they might have to install new parts, rather than straighten them, because those panels are formed in certain ways to reduce damage to the people in the car, so thats why the mfgr. wants everything new, and the repair shop must go along with the rules, to avoid being sued, should you be hit again in the back, and if the repaired panels fold up even worse than the last time! And, thats what builds the repair price to a high total!
So, if your repair shop says they have to install all new panels, you will now know why. Sure, some shade-tree so-called body man can probably fix it cheaply, but you'll faint every time you hear screeching tires behind you, especially if riding in a car that has been repaired cheaply!
