I took a small plant from my brother's garden thinking it was a pretty flower only to find it is a weed and it has now over run my garden strangling all the plants. the garden is now a sea of aconites and my poor bluebells and daffodils are being over run.

The only way is to use a deep mulch then when they come through spray them with a Glyforsate weed killer and they must have all the dying stems left on until they are reabsorbed back into the ground

Are they acconites or celendines. Both have a small yellow flower at this time of year. Acconites love an acid soil, a good dose of lime should slow things down as it will make the soil alkaline.. Spraying is not an option as this would also kill the bluebells etc.

Aconites are expensive to buy - dig them up and sell them if they are indeed aconites.
