I am breastfeeding my 6 month old, so I know that it is possible to get pregnant, especially since I have had 3 regular cycles. I had unprotected sex with my husband once last month. I am now about 4 days late for my period. I am experiencing some cramping...which could be from either a pregnancy or period on its way. I am just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar to this. I am hoping that this is just a case of breastfeeding making my periods a little off, but they have been regular for 3 cycles now. I know that most women will have a decrease in milk supply...how far long does a pregnancy have to be for this to happen?

Gosh, that's really hard to answer... breastfeeding can mess up your periods but you could be pregnant, too. You're going to have to take the test to know for sure.

I got pregnant while breastfeeding. It was my first time ovulating after birth/nursing. I thought I had an abnormal period and it was bleeding in pregnancy. Good luck.

It is possible to get pregnant. My second was 6 months when I found out I was pregnant with my third and I had not yet started my periods. The only way I suspected I was pregnant was because my milk supply decreased so I took a home pregnancy test.

Honey it is possible that you are pregnant again! My mom had the same experience. She was still breasfeeding my 7 months old brother when she got pregant again! After you have a baby, your cycle may change (hopefully thats why its delayed because I know you are not ready for another pregnancy right now) and your chances to conceive are higher than before! It is important to be EXTRA careful especially after your first child. Milk supply may last another 5 months or so.... My mom;s did, I dont know- it could differ from one woman to another...
I HOPE its just a change in your cycle. I just found out that I am pregnant and I am dealing with the anxiety right now, so I can kinda relate. My son is 15months old though, but we werent ready...
I guess we should just relax and deal with it! Good luck hun

I got pregnant with my second while breastfeeding after I had my period 3 times but my daughter was 18 months old at the time. Take a home pregnancy test since your period was regular after it came back.

The decrease in milk supply, if there even is one, usually does not occur until the second trimester. You might be pregnant agian, but don't freak yet wait a few days and take a HPT.

You should probably use a form of birth control. A couple friends of mine have IUDs and love them, I have been thinking diaphram... I'm so sick of messing with my hormones.

I hadn't heard about decreasing milk supply. Good luck.
