On their DVD "Deuce" Jonathan Davis says it was the dumbest thing they could think of. Jonathan wrote corn the same way he thouhgt a kid would write it, so he wrote corn with a crayon, with his left hand and that's how he came up the back words R and the K.

Ok,this is only a rumor I heard.I heard that Johnathan Davis coined that name Korn from something very ugly. It so happened at the time 10 years or more ago pedophiles were searching the internet for kiddy porn,and searching under the acronym Korn....for kiddy porn.Davis and the band are very much against pedophilia of any kind,and I would assume that its meant to mock or expose the dirty underword of sexual predators.Again,I only heard this as a rumor somewhere,so Id question its validity.

I'm not a big fan of Korn...but I'm pretty sure they get the name because they're from Iowa, which is a pretty large corn producer.
As previously mentioned, the K was added for effect.

omg what is wrong with all those ppl and their crazy answers. if you dont know why answer it...???and NO they are not from iowa??slipknot is. they are from cali! and as for the question..what i read was that at a party jon was at a guy threw up in anothers guy mouth when he was laughing and a piece of corn fell in his mouth jon saw and started laughing and going around the whole party saying corn to grows everyone out. pretty weird..but i think thats it also it could be because they are from cron county(im not sure if its cron but its close to sounding like corn). so yup thats it. :)

The lead singer's favorite food is corn, they added a K to make it seem cool. They have all kinds of corn backstage at every concert. Creamed corn, corn on the cob, corn casserole, corn cakes, cobb salad......
