This is just a follow up to my post on Friday. It is intended for those that participated.

To those of you who weren't here on Friday. I am 55, had a date with a 30 year old black man. My question was should I expect a lot of stares when out. Me pretty white woman in her 50's, he a 30 year old black man.

There were stares but no angry stares. I did not see any angry white men staring at us. LOL

You'll get stares, but moreso from the age difference than the race difference. Whatever the reasons for the stares, ignore them... unless of course they are staring at your beauty and his masculinity.
If you're happy when you are around this person it is pointless to worry about what those around you (strangers at that) are thinking. That would just waste energy you should be using to focus on your honey.
Hope you have many more great dates with this man.

Nothing wrong with giving away what you do not value. How anyone Your age can be so gullible as to think a 30 year old wants you for anything but to use is beyond me. Get smart and find someone closer to your age that can talk about things in your lifetime. Desperate desires only bring pain.. At least you are old enough to take a few knocks without falling apart. At least I hope so. Don't think race has anything to do with this. A person is more than their age or skin color but 25 years difference in age is a real stretch.

It's just strange for people to see two people of different skin colors out on a date. Segregation ended by law not too long ago and many people are still rascist. Don't think about them. If you like this guy, just continue to see him.
I heard something on tv that I stongly agree with. Someone said "It doesn't matter because in a few hundred years no one will know what their skin color is anyway." Society is now accepting bi-racial relationship more than they ever did and with more mixed children, the world will become more of one color.

Sweetie, it is very common today. I believe that a healthy relationship is very important. Black and white people dating today is fine with me. I have 3 sons and if they were dating a black woman and were happy together, I would be fine with it. I think today, people don't really judge anymore. And if they do so what! If your happy go for it!! Don't worry about what other people think, just be happy and enjoy your life. I don't think to many people stare anymore. You see it everyday. Just be happy and ... that's very important. Ignore the people that stare, they don't know what they are missing. lol Good luck sweetie Kathy

well, at least you found out there is nothing wrong with having a younger person in the romantic side of your life. i worried too, since i am considerably older than my main squeeze, but, irrespective of age, we wound up married! now, i feel younger from having to keep up with a younger woman. great, isn't it? and i might add that my 9 year old daughter is the center of our life, and she knows this. course i'll be in my 70's when she graduates from high school.

People of different races dating are getting more and more commonplace. I don't even bother looking anymore. Young, old, black, white, what's the difference?
