going Nap means staking every last penny on one horse to win.

The betting phrase "to go Nap" originates from the card game Napoleon where going Nap means betting that you'll win every trick.

Its Nap..short for nappy and not just in horse racing but the whole equestrian world. It means the horse is being naughty and lazy and refusing to do its job. ie not winning the race when it could have because he will not run ahead on his own.
