It depends on whether you are more interested in the scientific or legal aspect of the cases. If you're going to watch CSI, I would go for the original (as opposed to New York or Miami) because I believe the cast has the best chemistry. My favorite Law and Order is probably SVU, for the same reasons.

I prefer CSI: Las Vegas (the original one) but I like Law & Order: SVU.

if it is the original law and order i choose csi. L&O (the original lost it's appeal with the passing of the talented jerry orbach) if it is ANY L&O it would be L&O svu,then csi

I'm gonna have to go with Law and Order because their shows are based off of real events and the characters are more interesting.

i like both CSI and Law and Order. both shows are great they each have three spin-offs, its one of those tough calls so I'll just say both.

I find CSI more entertaining, but L&O has the more believable storylines.
