I have old hp crt 17" moniter from a windows me combo

can I use that same moniter with a new emachine T3604

they both a have vga input

Yes. VGA Monitors are compatible with any VGA video card. The age of the monitor or computer does not matter.

You can still use it, but nowadays at low prices you have every reason in the world to buy a LCD flatscreen monitor. I saw a few the other day from Viewsonic or something - 22" for only 250 bucks.

Sure but why would you want to.. monitors are cheap.. (people still use CRT's? Damn!!!)
