I think I might be pregnant and I'm on the pill.
Will continuing to take the pill until I'm certain if I'm pregnant or not hurt the baby if I am in fact pregnant?

I don't know if it will hurt the baby or not, but the literature on my pills say not to take them if you are pregnant. Use a back-up form of birth control until you find out for sure, or simply don't have sex. Go buy a pregnancy test or make an appointment with your doctor. Even if you buy a pregnancy test, a doctor visit is the only sure way of knowing if you are indeed pregnant.

No, continueing the pill will have no ill side-effects to the baby if in-fact you are pregnant. Taking the pill if you know you are pregnant and you are far along will have bad effects on the baby. If you are maybe a week along or something, don't worry. But go get checked out.

It depends which pill you are on as to how much potential damage would be done. They will not tell you to take the pill while pregnant because there is potential for harm. You can find out relatively quickly if you are pregnant. I would find out TODAY and then you don't have to take the pill tomorrow if you are pregnant. Simple enough - right?

If you think you are pregnant then you need to stop taking the pill. But if you do continue to take it...and then a little while later you test and it comes out that you are pregnant..then your baby should be fine. But if you really really think you are pregnant then you need to stop taking it.

Why do you think you're pregnant? Most women don't have any idea they're pregnant until it'd be time to test (missed period)... Do you have an actual basis for thinking this? If you truly feel you are, call your ob/gyn and ask for a blood test. You'll know very soon after. If you feel you are, stop taking the pill.

It is generally recommended that you do not take the pill if you suspect you might be pregnant. I don't know if there is evidence it could hurt the baby, but generally they will tell you not to take the chance.

You do need to get to the doctor right away if you suspect. I got pregnant on the pill. And it didn't hurt my child. Just find out quickly. Make an appointment

YES YES YES!! STOP the pill NOW, find out if your are pregnant or not first.
My cousin had a similar experience, problem is she didnt know that she was pregnant until after a month or two- Taking those pills dont cause her to miscarry, but she had an abnormal baby! His spine didnt develop! He had two legs, two arms, eyes, nose everything but he couldnt sit, walk and do anything! For 10yrs she struggled with her son...he had the most white teeth I have ever seen, but he couldnt use them. Even at the age of 10, she had to feed him like a baby, he couldnt chew or do anything. He died shortly after his 10th birthday!
So stop right now....find out if you are pregnant before you cause harm to your baby!!

I have heard that it does not affect the baby. Of course if you think you're pregnant (try to find out ASAP) stop taking the pill.

I asked my doctor this same questions and his reply is that it won't. By the time the zygote/embryo travels through the fallopian tubes and makes it to the uterus to burrow, is a decent amount of time. So if you are still taking the pill and you didn't know you were preganant it should be okay. But if you have had pregnancy symptoms and have missed your period for consecutive months, see your doctor.
