I need a middle infielder to backup Ray Durham in my fantasy baseball league. It is a keeper league so I want to go with a young guy. Stats we use are R, RBI, AVG, HR, SB, OB+S. We've got to cut our rosters down by March 25. Which of these guys would you keep as your final roster spot and why?:

-Chris Burke HOU
-Kaz Matsui COL
-Dustin Pedroia BOS

Chris Burke is an up and coming player, young and talented. He put up pretty good numbers in a limited role last season. He could be ready for a break out year this season.

Kaz Matsui

Projections from SportingNews:
102 Rs, 67 RBIs, .303 AVG, 8 HRs, 15 SBs, .357 OBS

"Matsui was a mess at the plate before being traded to the Rockies and spending two months in the minors. Away from the bright lights of New York, he rediscovered the stroke that made him a star in Japan. He hit .345 with 19 RBIs and eight steals in 32 games with Colorado." -SportingNews on Kazuo Matsui

ok well, i really don't see a lot of potential with Burke and Matsui. Pedroia is the only one i see. he is young, good defense and he swings a pretty good stick. even though he is a little bit of a gamble because he only played a month in the majors, he will be ok. he wont hit 30 home runs and drive in 100 RBIs, he will give you a pretty good average around .300 and he can run. i would take Pedroia for this reason!

Well definately not Matsui. Keep an eye on Pedroia. If he starts at second base then he would be the one to keep. If he shares time go with Burke.

I would keep Kaz Matsui because of the Coors factor, this year they are not allowed to use the humidor to control the baseballs so the numbers will go up. But neither of those three are very good options. Start looking at the free agent market.
