every time I hear rap, I get nervous. It's like, I get this feeling there's a crime being committed somewhere. That's how they do it ya know. They take thier boom box into a white neighborhood, and play rap real loud. some of them, shake, some jive, and the others break in and steal you blind. Then they go down to the next block and do the same thing. Just watch Break Dancin' II: Electric Bugaloo. You'll see.

No it does not make me nervous but it does annoy me.I think its lyrics are to violent and it sends a message to kids that crime is cool.

djbobbybob,Nancy Ka, and Chachi, your response was totally unnecessary. WickedCh was just explaining how she felt about it. Everyone has a right to there opinion. You guys took it too far.....

No!
I love rap-well, some of it
What songs-like give a few examples....
what kind of music DO you listen to?
why ya being racist-I'm not black but that's still pretty harsh!!!!
Eminem and Fat Joe do rap, and I don't recall him ever being black!
Don't be racist!!
c'mon now I thought we were all supposed to get along
And ya know if ya think it's those dang black ppl doin all the crime perhaps you need to watch the news b/c there are whites, balcks, asians, and whatever who are bad, so don't go trash-talkin blacks cuz that ain't fair.
Just so you know I wasn't tryin to be rude but you startin to sound like my parents thinkin that black people are bad and that's really not true!!!

sorry for the long message I just wanted you to know that!

"I sit alone in my four cornered room staring at candles"

Sounds like your mind is playing tricks on you.

Here's a fact...white suburban kids are the number one consumer of rap music...you know that's how "they" do it. Poison the minds of the little suburban kids, make the parents paranoid, make the children go to blockbuster and rent "Are we there yet" with Ice Cube and then tell them that 20 years ago he was with a group called NWA and they made bad songs about killing people and disregard for law enforcement. Then log onto Yahoo Music and watch the music video to prove it to them. But then assure them...it's okay...he won't hurt you now...so go in your room and watch TRL and "sucka free" on MTV because...hey it's safe and look it...there are other little suburban kids listening to this music so it must be okay...but I am torn...because it's not okay, because 50 cent and EM are waiting right outside my front door, they follow me to the grocery store, Jay-Z is on my television as a spokesperson for HP computers, and every other commercial I see and every professional sports event I go to...whoa as me...they are playing rap music...I can't get away...hold on...count to ten...there, I'm calm again...no wait...I'm not...why am I so nervous? I don't know...so let me go pop a Xanax/Prozac cocktail, turn on some American Idol and dream on sleepy Jean....cause I'm a daydream believer and homecoming queen.

Yes it makes me extremely nervous. It is too loud to be relaxing and makes me jumpy and bitchy.I can not stand it.I bought my 12 year old a children's rap CD for Christmas and now I regret it.After hearing boom boom boom boom over and over again,it is too much to bear,I feel like my heart jumps with every boom.
But I don't feel it links people to crime.

Well sort of but I get that feeling from listening to the words in the song and those scare me but not that fact that rap is playing.

ps: dixie it would have been ok if wickedchic would have expressed her feelings about music in a negetive way, but she also talked about black people in a negative way and that is not ok, to assume someone is going to rob her because there litsening to rap and there black! thats like me saying oh dixie girl is going to sleep with all her cousins cuz shes litsening to country and shes a red neck!

pss: massachusetts? wicked chic?????

No, but rock relaxes me, while classical makes me tense.
So I think it's more a question of what kind of music you like.
