??? A router is NOT PC or MAC based.

Routers are a networking device. They accept a signal from an ISP (Internet Service Provider) via T-1 connection or a DSL/Cable modem. The router then transfers that Internet connection to other computers. If it is a wireless router it is done by a radio transmitter/receiver built into the router. The signal is then received by a wireless card in the computer. It doesn't matter what that computers operating systems is.

All that is needed to make your setup work is that the Mac computer be able to obtain and send radio signals to and from the router.

If your brother has a secure network he has put a WEP key into the router and you need to enter that key into the network setting of your computer in order to get onto the Internet. He wants only people authorized by him to use the wireless Internet. It doesn't matter if it is a PC or a Mac.
