I hope you mean for the flowering plants that the butterflies love to hover over and drink the juices from. Those can be planted in the spring so they are blooming heavily in warm weather.

If you have your heart set of growing the butterflies themselves from seeds you need to take a sex ed course and learn about the birds and bees.

Cute first answer on the board there. I kind o' wondered myself if you wanted to grow butterflies from seed.

Buddleia, or Butterfly Bush, Sunflowers ... there are so many plants that attract butterflies (flutterbys). Have fun!

You should get a butterfly bush, you can plant it, and all you have to do is cut it back it will keep growing and it attracts a lot of different kinds of butterflies. You can get them in different colors.
