To become a model have,
1. Good connections (try to build em up and use em)
2. Work out profusely
3. Make your mind ready to put everything at stake (even your own money).
4. Try to contact already established models.
5. You can also find "fashion designing institutes" and ask them about these.
6. There are institutes that train people to become models , so you can google about it further.
best of luck and when you become a top model, dont forget me ok...I will need a photograph with an autograph of yours then :)

You can start with sending your information to modeling agencies. One is http://www.fordmodels.com there are many others. But if the company wants you to spend money with them for their representation, pictures, training. Keep looking. I have about 7 legitimate agencies that I have looked into, out of 28 companies I researched.
You will be a contractor, so you will have to do most, if not all, of the promotional work yourself. There are websites such as http://www.onemodelplace.com that have webpages of professional and amateur models. This site if good for networking with professional photographers and other models as well.

You obviously have to be pretty and have a good personality. Call a modeling agency. But be careful of the modeling agencies out there that charge you a lot of money to get started. Call a few of them and visit a few to get a good sense of what is out there.
There are a lot of girls out there that want to try this, but if it is really your dream -I say go for it!

send agencies your snapshots. have at least one close up of face and one of body. send to world known agencies such as elite models, wilhemina, boss, etc. then if they like you they will contact you. usually you have to be at least 5'8 tall and thin but it's all relative. sometimes agencies are just looking for that look and if you have it ( you may not know it) they will sign you. good luck!
