Its not all the time, but when I cut and cook with onions, I smell like onions, for days. My sweat, my skin. my hubby says my gina does too. why? And how can I get rid of the smell. I am a clean person. I shower every day. I dont like to stink.!!! Help me?!?!?!?!?

Not eating them. I cook for Patients. I get juice on my hands and then wash them immediately so that I wont cry. I dont eat them!! Thats the mystery about it.

It gets in your bloodstream and needs to be metabolized out.

Try wearing latex gloves when you cut onions, your not alone I've noticed that too. So lately i've been using either frozen onions that are pre-cut or dried onion, it makes a huge difference. I think that the onion actually gets absorbed into your skin and therefore it takes awhile for your body to rid itself of the oder. Like I said try the gloves and if you can use a substitute for fresh onions.

Rinse onions in water for 15 minutes then cut them. I think it solve your problem.
