My mom never admitted her full heritage. Until I met estranged relations I never knew I had African heritage. Mom is 65 so her time was different, but she should have told her children.

To the poster who suggested I don't love or care for my mother. On what information do you make that assumption. I pay half her rent. Make sure she has food and eats well, mom has a junk food problem. I invite her to stay in my home and pick her up once a month to visit with my children. What issues do you have???

That happens a lot. There are so many whites with distant black or Native American blood and don't even know about it.
