PCD? Yo man, I'm sorry, but these girls are ridiculous and definitely not who I would want my daughter to pattern herself after. As a society, have we just lost our minds? Little girls see these glorified strippers on public TV and want to immitate them. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate talent as much as the next man, but the way we use talent to justify the exploitation of women nowadays is whack. Look at Britney-so sad, man. What happened to self respect? I know one of the girls who is trying to be the "next doll" and will probably win, but what's sad is to realize all of the pain and sexual abuse she has gone through in her life will be shoved to the side and left unhealed. Let's keep it real, many of the women who get down like this have been victims of sexual abuse or were fatherless and are just looking for love in the wrong way. I'm not some conservative, right-winger looking down on everyone else, and definitely have my own share of dirt, but what is the world coming to?

No, as it is too high maintenance.
Let's look at Bratz Dolls, which are more into conspicuous consumption than Barbie ever was.

you know there alot of people here that think that the PCD are a bad influence on young girls, well welcome to america all of you, maybe you shouldn't be complaining about what your girls watch and emulate and spend more time watching your kids I think that the responsibility lies solely with the parents, if you are going to complain about what is on the radio and the TV then you shouldn't let the TV or radio raise your kids. I have 2 boys and my view on this is different because I don't have daughters but I still have to teach my sons to be respectful towards women. I am so sick and tired of people like those who answered that the PCD and Britney and the Bratz dolls are turning little girls into sluts, that's ridiculous in case you forgot both the TV and radio have on/off buttons and as far as the brats dolls go you are guilty of promoting that behavior if you buy your kids those dolls. take control of your own damn life and stop worrying about what the PCD and Britney are doing, to all of you who answered that they agree, that's like blaming your pencil because you misspelled words or a keyboard because you can't type.

a million) sure, always. i actually don't like first individual. 2) No. i have in undemanding words met some those who do. each each now and then i imagine in 0.33 individual, inspite of the actuality that. 3) Do i actually ought to dignify this question with an answer? Mm. ok. No, for right here motives: a) i'm a heterosexual lady b) i don't know what you look to be c) at the same time as human beings question me questions that they quote from idiotic songs, I in the present day say, "no." So i don't be counted on miracles, magic in a tender lady's heart, or existence after love, nor do I desire my female friend replaced into warm like you. --I wasn't demanding; that replaced into my particularly lame idea as a funny tale.

After seeing that reality show, my husband said
"No, I really do not wish my girlfriend was ANYTHING like you-- SERIOUSLY"
So I then asked
"WHAT GIRLFRIEND?" grrrrr.
then we both laughed..
Okay I thought I would share that. True story. and funny too. About wraps that whole question up, doesn't it?
You are right on about the opinion of these girls self esteem. My barrier is "Do I want my parents seeing this?" "Will I be embarrassed if my daughter watched it?" If I can't answer those two questions positively, I will not be doing it in public. Period. That's now and later when I am famous.. LOL

According to the Pussy Cat Dolls publicist they are really helping the woman's movement because they are about empowerment not exploitation. Right!!! I say if it acts like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Who are they trying to kid. They act and look like a bunch of low class sluts. I guess I should have said hookers, because after all their getting paid for it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your assessment. Unfortunately in this day and age sex sells.

Well PCD is just another girl group trying to pursue their careers. Your looking at it in the negative way. The positive way is that they are talented singers that don't mind dancing with soem skin showing. Just because they were strippers doesn't mean they deserve to be critized for their womanly curves and amazing vocal cords.

I was overwhelmed at the reality show the Pussy Cat Dolls, I can't believe those cute and young girls would get on National TV and do what they did just to be in a band...And I've never even seen them before...

I agree with you, but keep in mind are children are exposed to what we let them be exposed too.
I remember when Brittany came out with her first cd, My daughter was allowed to listen to her then. She is no longer permitted to listen to her. When she grows up and moves out of my house (hopefully with my values instilled in her deeply) She can then make the choices she wants.
As for the fatherless.. That's just a cope out, My daughter's father passed away. She lives a normal well adjusted life. Its all in how the other parent picks of the pieces!!!

Unfortunately sex sells - always has always will. Tabloids sell too. People keep buying them - they want to know what Brittany, Paris, etc... are doing next.
Until women quit thinking that they have to look like a 2bit hooker to get attention, nothing will change.
