He has one of the hardest shots in the league (prooving it at the all-star break), one of the most accurate shots in the league. If he shot more, he would be a 40 goal scorer, and would get 90-100 assists. But thats ony the way I see it

I am a Sharks fan and I watch every game. A big misconception is that he doesn't shoot because he gets so many assists. HE'S SECOND ON THE TEAM IN SHOTS ON GOAL!!!

If Thornton were to shoot more, he would need a playmaking winger, which the Sharks are lacking. Cheechoo and Marleau both work better off the puck and Michalek is still sharpening his skills. For now, Thornton should continue with what he's doing: drawing 3 players to him and creating opportunities for others.

You don't score on 100% of the shots you don't take.

On the hand, Thornton's style is working for the team. And, since this is a team sport, it really does not matter who puts the puck in the net.

If there was a complete lack of success you might have an arugment, but face it, SOMEONE has to get the assists.

I love the sharks and if i miss a game, unless they dont have it showing on.

Joe thornton is doing prety good to at least be on the #1 line and switching wingers.

cheech is horible this year but just wait bill guirin will come out of his shell and get in on some scoring.

Yes. To quote Barry Melrose "Good things happen when you go to the net." And his other favorite "You can't score if you don't shoot."

NO WAY!!!!!!! if he was to shoot more, then he would not be asisting so many goals! that would lead to lack of scoring, and they would lose games! he should keep doing what he is doing!!
