I am having quite a bit of problems finding a foundation that suites my skin tone. I am pretty fair complected, dark hair and blue eyes. I can't afford to spend $60 dollars on a foundation because I am on a very limited budget. I have tried several differant types. I have even gone just bronzer because I hate the caking effect. I am looking for something that is going to brighten up my features and give me a fresh clean look. Help me please!

I can recommend two different and affordable products. I have tried just about everything in all price categories and the best ones on a budget that I've found are:

1) Cover girl TruBlend - This will finish to a powder and leaves a really fresh natural look. You can find a color that is around your skin tone and it will likely match. You seem to have very cool coloring so you may want to look for a color that has fewer yellow tones and has a bit more of a pink or blue undertone. You will love the finish of this make up and it feels really light which for me is always a plus.

2) Loreal has true match. I love this product too because you don't have to pick the exact color. You can choose on that closely matches your skin and it will likely work. This one doesn't finish to a powder though so you would have to use a powder to give it that finished appearance. It matched my skin perfectly.

Hopefully one of these two products will work for you and I know the technology behind both of them is really great!

Good luck!

Bare Escentuals.

They have a three step process for a really natural look. But foundation is $25.00 by itself. It gives really good coverage without looking fake or cakey. If you can, save up the money and get the kit (3 mineral powders, brush, and instructions), I think its like 50-60 dollars but the amounts you get last for a long time so its a good investment.

At least start with the foundation. Don't waste money on cheap cosmetics that don't last very long. Have you heard of the store called Ulta? I would go there. Ulta has good cosmetics too..... (I mean the actually Ulta brand of cosmetics in the Ulta store....if that made sense)

You don't need to waste 50+ dollars on **** like bare essentials, much less anything over 12$ period.

Just try the main sutff- I have an excellent covergirl one.

Liquid foundation is the best. The thicker stuff in the pots is what gets cakey.

Bottled is way better, and if you find the right tone, but it's way too thick, add a teeny bit of water until you get the consistency you need.

Trust me.. As a professional drag queen, I know my makeup well.

Also, a fine all-over powder works wonders after your foundation, too.

Seals it all in, and makes it look absolutely flawless and almost airbrush-finished.

i think u only need powder if u just want to look Clean. foundation (liquids) will make u look more ... makeup-y. so if u wanna look fresh and natural, i say just go for a moisturizer and powder on top, or even better, a Tinted moisturizer.

make sure u have a good concealer, and powder (or tinted moisturizer), and u'll be fine. it won't look heavy if u do that.

for a good brand that is not expensive, try some of the more pricier ones at drug stores. it'll range from like $10-20, which is much better than the designer ones in terms of price. i say l'oreal, revlon, almay and neutrogena will have fairly good performance. also u can try Max factor.... or physicians formula. good luck!

i have a fair skin tone, dark hair, and blue eyes as well. we're very rare!

i happen to like this clinique liquid foundation, i think it's called perfectly real. it's nice to go to the counter and get a match rather than going to the pharmacy and trying you best to match your skin tone. it is a little expensive though, like 20 bucks?

but you know, i know you said you can't afford to spend 60 dollars on make up, (which is how much my new favorite make up is). the bare minerals stuff is WONDERFUL. it does wear off after my 12-16 hr day though.

the clinique stuff comes in second, but it's wonderful. i've never had much luck with pharmacy foundations so i wish i could help you on the lower budget stuff but i don't know much about it.

good luck!

I have fair skin, dark hair and light blue eyes as well. The best non-designer powder that works for me is 'True Blend' you can get it at walmart, or target or any pharmacy store. I dont use actual "foundation" because of the cakey effect...plus, why cover up great skin if all you are trying to do is enhance it?

Just use a lighter tone of Bare Minerals for your entire face and then get an enhancing complimentary blush color like a pink or bronze color for your cheeks, nose tip, and forehead. L'Oreal and Physicians formula are two brands that work well and cost around $10 - $15 at any superstore.

Bare Minerals and Sheer Cover work best, but they cost more initially. You just gotta be willing to 'pay it forward'.

They're a good investment cuz you get a lot of bang for your buck. (last a long time PLUS you get different shades, brush, etc.)

I like to use a loose powder before applying Bare Minerals. It helps to 'set' the minerals and gives a great finished look.

I have tried so many different kinds of foundation from drug store to department store. My favorite by far is Loreal True Match. There are so many shades to chose from, you are bound to find your match! A bottle is about $9-$10.
