Looking at a holiday home where the owner says the cellar's half empty of water. How come if I bought it, the cellar would be half full of water?

Easy... the cellar is "half-empty" to the current owner, because they are whole heartedly wishing that you purchase their property... upon purchase, you are now seeing the cellar ar "half-full" as you are now whole heatredly wishing that the cellar was a "pool" room... :-)
