why do men lie all the time and hurt you, why cant they just tell you the truth and get it over with? my partner has told that many lies he forgets and i catch him out!!!

Please don't generalize. Not all men are hurtful liars. Lying is very relative and subjective. We all lie; constantly! There are many kinds and levels of lies. Lying and the truth exist of the same pole. Absolute lies sit at one end of the pole and absolute truth at the other end. There are myriad shades of lies and truth from one extreme to the other. Sometimes the truth can hurt just as much, if not more, than a lie!
For some of us lying becomes such an integral part of our lives that we aren't even aware we do it with such frequency. How many times have you told someone they look good in something even though you really think they look awful? How many times have you told someone 'good morning' without even meaning it?
Is his lying malicious? Are his lies intended to hurt you? Does he lie about everything? Does he lie to make you feel good? See what I mean? You have to learn to distinguish the kinds of lies he is telling you then make a decision to confront him and try to work it out or leave him. It is that simple! I don't mean to sound too crass but sometimes you have to look at things at face value without sugar coating your statements so much. I hope this can help you to sort this out a bit. Good luck!

oh Hi, I remember you, how's it all going? Did he make his mind up or what? This question doesn't sound very good having said that. And to answer it, men lie because they think that they are somehow protecting you and themselves if they avoid the truth. They rarely mean harm by it, but a man thinks differently than a woman, and can't grasp that the truth is so much better for us.
I am starting to think you have got to give up on this guy. If you don't contact him for a while the wound will start to heal. Hope it goes a bit easier this week for you, you have had a **** year so far haven't you. The same reason some women lie. Not all men lie, and certainly not all the time. It could be your partner is a pathological liar, meaning they cannot help them self, or it could be that they feel they cannot tell you the truth. It is really hard to say without knowing the whole situation, but don't judge all men by the actions of one.

Men don't lie ALL the the time; just the one you have. It's easier to lie at the time than tell the truth. You need a new partner. BTW, women lie too.

I think everybody tells little white lies if you were to tell the truth you your self have lied before if your man is lying so much that he can't keep his story straight i would say get a new man.but don't say all men lie because there are some good men out there

Men lie to increase the odds of their genetic survival, and women in turn are attracted to males increasing the odds of THEIR (the female's) genetic survival
Note you said he is your "partner" and you might ask if he is such a liar - how did he even reach that point? No way do women not notice certain men are liars quite early in the relationship
Odds are very high you are attracted to precisely such males over and over
In fact it turns out that deception for males is a key evolutionary genetic survival skill along with wide scale seed spreading (cheating in modern parlance), controlling behavior and the ability to use violence in certain situations
Nondeceptive, monogamous, noncontrolling males (aka "nice guys) are subconciously deemed by chicks today as evolutionary deadends, basically genetically inferior in an evolutionary context - as modern women still carry a signficant amount of evolutionary baggage in their DNA
Honesty in males, while commendable in theory and certainly practical today, is not a good chemistry generator for chicks
To incease their odds in the genetic lottery of life - women are going to mate first with the dishonest cheater over the nice guy - its really part of the natural order
Only the cheating/liar can offer the illlusive promise of genetic immortality - thus the excitement chicks get when around such men vs the boredom when hanginh out with 'nice guys"
Now obviously some chicks honestly believe otherwise however that big "chemistry' they crave, their crack cocaine equivalent - will generally keep bringing them back to the bad guy

That's a good question, but I don't have a good answer for you. They just get so into the lies, I really think they believe the lies themselves. Sorry you are dealing with this. I hate liar myself. It should be easy to tell the truth and be honest, but nor for some men.

i think that all men lie because for some strange reason they was created to cause us women nothing but heartache,, why an earth are you still with him if he lies so much,, my ex told so many lies even had his mum back his lies up and you know what she gave the excuse that he didnt want to hurt me.. what a load of rubbish doesnt she realize that them lying was going to cause more hurt in the long run your better off with out it love get rid

Yeah i've been with so many guys who are absolute liars too. Don't know why they do that but i think they're worse than women. My advice is once a guy you've been with has told a couple of lies, get rid of him as things will just continue like this and it will drain you totally. A liar is a waste of your time.
