Hello,

I'm leaving the US for the first time, going to Mexico (Mazatlan) for a week. Can anyone give me any tips or hints about travelling internationally in general and travelling to Mexico or Mazatlan specifically?

dont plan everything or expect things to work out according to plan

allow for the unexpected

be open to new ideas/ ways of doing things/ cultures / foods/ attitudes

accept that things may be different but it doesnt mean that it is wrong

be careful with your possessions - dont take too much and dont flaunt wealth - most countries are a lot poorer than the US

have fun and enjoy yourself

talk to as many different people as possible - share experiences with other travellers and with locals

expect to share details of your life with people you barely know

make sure you have your vaccinations and travel insurance

i'm sure you will have a lot of fun!!!
