Mothman was the name given to a strange creature reported in the Charleston and Point Pleasant areas of West Virginia between November 1966 and December 1967. The creature was sporadically reported to be seen before and after those dates, with some sightings as recent as 2005.
Most observers describe the Mothman as a winged man-sized creature with large reflective red eyes. A number of hypotheses have been presented to explain eyewitness accounts, ranging from misidentification and coincidence to paranormal phenomena and conspiracy theories.

I don't think he was ever around. To start a hoax all you have to do is invent a story of a monster or space man or something and somehow get your story out to the public and other people will add to it, this is why we cannot believe every siting of UFOs and Big Foot and other things that I personally believe exists, but most sitings are fabricated either deliberately, or by those with problems. Just my 2 cents.

Mothman is not one person but a type of species which is believed to exist. basically it's a harry monster with red eyes just look it up in wikipedia....!

Hello there! Yes it is!This is really weird, the other day some picture showed up on my cell phone. I didn't take the picture,and have no idea where it came from. I wished you could see it, It looks just like the moth-thing. It's a photograph of the shadow. Looks like it's in a graveyard looking down over a body. Real spooky. Bye, SpaceCase.

No, unfortunately Mothman, Stan to his friends, is no longer with us. He passed away earlier in the week from complications arising from AIDS.
Long an advocate for gay rights, his family askes that in lieu of flowers, please make cash donations to either the CDC in Atlanta, or Rosie O'Donnell.

It might've been around at one point but most likely it was a creature that was just going extinct and not something wierd and mutated.. Oh and it's most likely dead.. It's been like 40 - 60 years since it's first sighting.. not many animals like that long.
