The weekend footie on BBC was also on HD (Channel 501) but my TV (Sony Bravia HD/Freeview ready) said channel not tuned.

even though it's the BBC you still need to subcribe to all HD channels through Sky and get a Sky HD box. There is a waiting list to having these installed and it is an extra subscription price. Well worth it though. You get BBC HD, Artsworld HD, Sky One HD, Sky movies HD 9 and 10, Sky sports HD and a new one called Premier HD starting on Saturday.

You have to have an HD receiver from your cable company or satelite provider and an HD TV. Or you can buy an HD antenna for your house, then you don't need cable or satelite service.,just the HD TV.

even though you have an HD telly you still need to have subscription to see it.If you are on sky it is an extra £10 a month to watch channels that are broadcasted in HD.
