If you were able to run England for a day, What new laws would you make, and what old ones would you stop?

Abolish the monarchy (money better spent on the NHS).
Abolish benefits (for those who simply aren't bothered about contributing to society).
Make our prisoners run in giant hamster wheels to generate power for the national grid.
Deport those who won't work (i.e. the ones who would have their benefits stopped) and gladly welcome those with professions that will.
Clamp down on chav culture.
Suppress human rights activists and (on the other end of the scale) outlaw religious extremists.

Leave the EU. Do away with Human Rights Legislation. Build more prisons so that all criminals could serve their full sentence(no remission). Child adoption only allowed for married couples(i.e. male and female). Tony Blair and his lying, cheating rotten government to stand trial for crimes against the country and it's people.....I could go on and on and on but last and not least, a law stating that global warming being caused by man is a complete and utter myth. A theory without foundation or fact.

I would insist on better service in restaurants and decent food.
I would also introduce a law to make books cheaper.
I would renationalise the railways and utilities and run them for the benefit of the people.
I would abolish the laws that prohibit demonstrations outside Parliament and scrap plans for I.D. cards.
I would hand back power without a peep...

i dont live there, and am unfamiliar with most laws, but here goes.....................there should be a greater restriction on alcohol, yep, im sorry i know everyone likes their alcohol but when you're thinking for the better of a whole society, the amount must be cut, or at least an appropriate age should be in place, andmaybe a fine for young people who are illegaly drunk. More coast guard, not sure if it'd help, but you never knoe. get stricter on the global warming issues. the uk is already in the middle of the beginning of an ice age. more restrictions on just about everything should do it. \ .............................communism?????

Make it a neutral country, which would mean bringing our troops back from overseas. Cut links with the yanks. Build a big wall around London and make it a seperate country - the people there act like they are from a different planet already.

I'd try and do something to stop this imbalance where nobody can have any negative opinions about Muslims without a massive backlash. You can call me racist or whatever - I know I'm not. But, this imbalance is getting ridiculous now.
