I like "How soon is now", and "This charming man".
We have Dutch pen friends who are really into the Smiths, last time they were over, I took them to Salford Lad's Club for a photo shoot, like the album cover.
It was the scariest place I have been, half way through we were surrounded by rough kids, about 40 of them.
"Can I watch your car mister", "What paper are you from", "Gi' us a fiver and you an take my picture" etc.

I love the Smiths! The 80s were pretty great at times, and they were a large reason for it.
Unfortunately, it was around the year 2000 when I started getting into music and all different eras of it, so I missed out on a bunch of those bands you listed above(Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets), but I'll check them out.
But yeah, the Smiths are definitely on my playlists still.

Indeed I do. I still enjoy quite a few 80s english bands: Pet Shop Boys, Bauhaus, Soft Cell, The Cult, Depeche Mode, Sex Gang Children, UB40, etc.

hi i´m from Argentina. i like a lot UK bands Queen is in the top of my list y like deep purple, led zeppelin, pink Floyd, Shirley Manson from garbage the smiths of course and s morrissey too!!, def leppard, the police, and i like Ian brown from the stone roses Elton john and many more.
do you know something about argentinian music or bands. i recommend you to listen to babasonicos, Patricio Rey y sus redonditos de ricota a.k.a Los redondos, one of the most influential musicians in Argentina is Luis Alberto Spinetta also know as "Flaco" means "thin". another one is Charly Garcia so many years ago he was in the most important bands in the early 70´s like Sui Generis and Serú Girán.
Since i was a kid, now i have 21, i have listen Queen for so many years i´m a bigggg fan of Freddie and i have the biggest luck in the world because i´ll travel to UK in the mid ´08. so i will able to see with my own eyes the beauty of your country that i love so much than my own country. So many people ask my why UK, and other look me like you´re crazy !because that stupid war of Malvinas or Falklands like you call them is for my country he motive of have a bad look at the UK but i tell you, when the war was going on i´m not even been born i´m class ´85 and that not bother my to travel to the country that i love with my heart and soul and i can explain it.
Sometimes i fell that i belong more to England than my own country.
