Ecconomically it's dairy products.. cheese etc.

Common meals often include potatoes meat and veggie.

A classic dutch dish can be Boren kool met wurst (sp?)

how we make it (I consider it authentic My hubby is dutch and it's how his mom makes it)
We layer peeled potatoes in the bottom of a big pot with about a finger deep of salted water for steaming..
On top we layer shredded kale and place a smoked sausage on top.

steam untill kale is wilted and potatoes are done.
remove sausage and mash kale and potatoes together with milk and butter (salt and pepper too if desired) slice up sausage and serve with or mix in. Often bacon is served with this too..

you can substitute saurkraut for kale too

eet smakelijk
