If i tell you a lie,,,, wouldn't it that i already destroy everything..???
If i tell you the truth,,,, wouldn't time will justify it and eventually forgive what hurt has been done..???
I dont know,,,, im not in your shoes,,, you alone knows what is best FOR THE MOMENT,,,
Ask your mind but follow your heart,,,

An interesting and fair question, but before I give you my answer, I'll tell you what led me to my answer. I dated a girl a few months back who recently died from heart failure due to a disease she had called Congenital Heart Disease (Blue baby syndrome). All her life all she ever wanted was a friend but she never dared to reach out and make friends because she never knew when she would die. That placed me in positions where I had to ask myself that same question. My answer is this: both neither of those choices and all of those choices. This is because life is chaotic and uncertain, as my lost girlfriend taught me, and each situation life throws at you requires different answers. Do I tell her what I really think, knowing she'll likely slit her wrists (she would have, on several occasions)? Or do I do I lie to keep her safe? Here's the trick: no one answer is the right answer on its own, but when you use both answers you get the correct answer. I simply told her what I believed to be the truth, then, letting her know first, gave her the lie and then asked her which she wanted, the truth or the lie and whether or not she'd rather have a boyfriend who lied or told the truth as he saw it. She never did kill herself and she always chose the truth over the lie knowing full well what they both were.

there is a fine line between being tactful and downright mean when it's really an insignficant deal --on the big issues tell the truth. Like does this hat look good --u could say" it's a hat-all right!" but I rather be known for the person I am instead of just some facade I present to the world--which is not really me. "To thine own self be true" is my belief

good question -
in reading some of the other answers people tend to answer that it's too difficult to lie or they need their identity. . . since you didn't state for how long or what type of situation, it's not a one answer fits all
we all lie and pretend to be someone else - or the best of who we are in certain situations. First dates - those are too often about "who you want me to be". Job interviews are about "I can be that person." There's enough in the wanting to motivate us to be someone else in those situations.
Now if it were in a longer situation - or within your community, I think most people would start off being who they are, then giving in to pretending so they can get along - it's what we do now.

I personally do not wish to be hated by anyone.
It depends on who/what you would be destroying. However, it is always best o be loved for who you are and not the lie. Trust the other person to decide if they can love you for whatever you feel the need to lie about.

Well I don't go around looking for trouble. If it is not necessary I don't volunteer any damaging information.
I won't just lie to save my but like I did when i was a kid though. Its just to much work. If you don't like me the way that i am, I'm sorry.
Its not worth all the effort you need to expend to keep a lie covered up. Like they used to say, like it or leave it.
Love and blessings Don

Don't know why you asked this twice, but whatever.
I would choose every time to be hated for who I am (who am I anyway? :p but that's a different question)
As for the other questions it depends on the situation. Plus what I do isn't necessarily what's right to do...

I gotta be me, and if you don't like who and what I am that's YOUR problem, not mine. I refuse to spend my life playing a part just so people will like me. That's selling out. Not me.
