*Sigh*

The fact of the matter is that many people know exactly how to get it done. If you just have to see something in print, then sell yourself short, go to lulu.com or publishamerica.com and get it taken care of. Either company is legit, but I can promise that you can kiss those dreams of ten thousand dollar advances, lines of screaming fans waiting for you to sign their books, and a website with 100,000 hits a day goodbye.

If you publish traditionally you still have a one in a billion shot at all that, but at least that's something.

Here's what you do:
-Go out and buy the book Writing the Breakout Novel
-Go out and buy the book The Complete Idiot's Guide to Writing a Novel
-Go out and buy the book The Complete Idiot's Guide to Getting Published.
-Join www.writerscafe.org (you'll appreciate the support)
-Join www.burryman.com (ditto)
-Join www.elfwood.com (only if you're writing Sci-fi or Fantasy
-Go to www.meetup.com (www.meet-up.com?) and find a writer's group near you
-Edit, Edit, Edit, Rewrite, Edit, Edit, Edit
-Get the Writer's Market

With all these at your disposal you should have what it takes to get published if you actually have skill and talent. (Some people are dillusion, but that's okay. Look at Eminem, he actually became famous thinking he was a black rapper, so there's hope even for the dillusional. haha)

Remember, you're book sucks. I'm not saying that to be mean, but so that you know how it feels. If you're serious about getting published you're going to hear that said properly with countless rejection letters. Did I offend you? Maybe you're not strong enough to go against the publishing industry. Did you say, whatever, I can still do this? Good. Give it a shot.

I can't tell you exactly how to do it, but hopefully I've told you how to equip yourself with the tools to do it. Surround yourself with creative, artistic people and you should be fine with their support.

Good luck to you!

Yes, and they write books about it. Go to your local library and get a book on getting published. It will tell you what to send to whom, and in what format. You can also find a list of different publishers, and who publishes what genres.

To help you I am posting a link where you can publish your book yourself. It's a site sponsored by one of my favorite authors.
Hope you find what you need!
