I would have to say the 49ers. They are in a weak NFC west in which their competition are a shaky Rams team, bad Arizona team, and inconsistant Seahawks team who the 49ers swept in the 2006 season. They had a solid ending to the season and added a really good corner in Nate Clements to join already pro-bowl corner Walt Harris. They added a solid receiver in Ashley Lilie and the only thing they must compensate for is the absence of lat years offensive coordinator Norv Turner who left for the head coaching job at San Diego.

The other teams, I don't making it. Arizona will have a new head coah and it will take a year or two for them to adapt to the style, Detroit will always suck, and the Rams, as previosuly mentioned, are ery shaky. The reason why none of the AFC teams mentioned will not make it is becasue the AFC is an extremly hard conference to be excel in unless you are already contendors. The AFC playoff picture is almost already filled with the strength of teams such as the Chargers, Broncos, Chiefs, Colts, Bengals, Patriots, Jets, Ravens, and Jags.

This was a very good question to ask but would be a little easier to answer after the draft and free agent period.

All in all, I'm ready for the season to begin.

I would say the Titans and the Rams. They were both right on the bubble last year. The Titans will have a more experienced Vince Young and the Rams have one of the best offenses in the NFC. The Cardinals and 49ers are still young and the Lions don't have the defense. The Texans and Browns are still rebuilding and don't have all the tools just yet.

NFC-San Fran

AFC- Cleveland Browns
I know I'm going to have to defend myself on this, so here it goes. The tools are there, people. The remaining problems are being addressed in an amazing way this off season. The offense is legitimate threat with players such as newly added Jamal Lewis, WR Tim Carter, Joe Jurevicius, and Braylon Edwards and an O-line that is coming together with the likes of Eric Steinbach, Joe Andruzzi, Cosey Coleman, etc. Josh Cribbs is an excellent special teams threat as a KR and I'm sure with letting Northcutt go, now PR. On defense, you have the always dependable Andra Davis, outstanding in Kamerion Wimbley(led rookies in sacks last year) and D'Qwell Jackson, Leigh Bodden and Gary Baxter in the back field(and even Chad Johnson has admitted Leigh Bodden as an elite player that gives him fits at times.) Not to mention Willie McGinest, Ted Washington, Chaun Thompson, and Orpheus Roye. It's all there, and Savage is doing a great job making moves that mesh and Crennel does a great job and commands a lot of respect from these guys. There are in arguably the toughest AFC Division (Bengals, Ravens, Steelers) but I think it's time to look past the biased that the "Browns suck" and really take a better looks. Browns make a run this year, suprise all the nay-sayers.

in the nfc i could see Arizona making the playoffs if their o-line gets better (their ground game was awful last year despite the addidion of edgerin james). their defense needs to be a little better also. the 49ers had a good run last year and if they make similar improvments this year they could do even better.
in the afc i think that the titans or the texans could make it depending on who does better in the division. however, all three teams play in very strong divisions and i don't see much change at the top of the afc this season so for any of these teams to make it would take something close to a miracle.

Easily the Niners and Titans. The Rams have been the same team for the last 5 years, and they've done nothing. The niners improved greatly last season, this season they're ready to go tot he next step. Clearly Mike Nolan knows what he's doing. Alex Smith will mature, at times he played like an all-pro QB, theres good reason to have hope in him.

Titans have Vince Young and thats enough said.

The Saint Louis and Titans.

Arizona has a big offseason every year but fails to do anything, ever.
Detroit is always bad but I´m confident that they'll go about 8-8 this season as The Curse of Bobby Layne begins to wear off.
St. Louis has one of the best RBs in the game now, one of the best WRs in the game now, a good line, and I think they signed Randy McMichael, which is good too. They won't miss Curtis much.

The 49ers will be a decent team but I think that the Rams will be legitamately good.

It's always hard to predict until you have seen what they do in free agency and the draft, but based on last year, I would have to say only the 49ers and the Titans are really close to making the playoffs next season.

The Niners and Titans are the only listed teams with a chance of making the playoffs, and of them, I hope both do but think only the Titans will.

None in the NFC, the Titans in the AFC. The NFC is too good for anyone of those bad teams to get in. The Titans have potential, but only if Pacman Jones gets out of legal trouble.
