leave without saying goodbye?

I did once...
And it is hell. Especially when he deserved so much more than that. But I was so scared and didn't know what to do. I just didn't know how to handle it.
So I'm thinking of apologizing. I've been thinking about it for a long time but I think I'm ready now. I'm just not sure what I'm supposed to say...
"I'm sorry. I didn't say goodbye because I was scared of life and my heart."
Man, it's difficult.
But you can be damn sure I'll never do it again.

If the person I was trying to leave kept preventing me through what ever means that she could like threatening to hurt herself . Yeah it would be the only option left for me;id become a ghost for awhile.
