It has to be in question form. It can be on ANYTHING. I'm only 11 but I'm smarter than other kids. So I guess that would mean I would be 14. Something fun, but A LOT of information. I am planning to do something like this.

Hmmm. . . I'm guessing that you are in 5th grade if you are 11, since I teach 6th and most of those kids are 12. You could do something on middle school life if 6th grade is middle school where you live. Hopefully you just typed this question quickly, since I'm guessing that Grammar and writing might not be your best subject. I'm honestly not being mean- just an English teacher.
A difficult, advanced topic would be: IQ vs EQ or Gifted classes vs Homogenious mixed ability classes and whether they should be separated or together (since you say your are one of the "smarter" students in your class) here's a sample article to use: http://www.connectforkids.org/node/516 you could look at socioeconomic levels and whether there should be gifted classes or not, since in most places rich equals gifted and poor equals learning disabled. You could look at the requirements necessary to get into advanced/gifted classes in your county or school district and whether you feel these are fair. In your research you would have plenty of primary sources and you could interview someone at the school board on this topic. Since you said you are "smart" you probably have a teacher who is certified in this area of education who can also help you out with this topic.
You could also just do a topic that means something to you. Marine Biologists or another career that you'd be interested in in the future, Arabian Horses or another favorite animal, Anorexia is a popular topic with girls your age- or psychological or physical diseases , Cell phones and whether they should be used by kids (and the recent history of cell phone usage by kids- you'd be using a lot of periodicals for research here), You could also just type in "controversial topics" in a site that your school and parents allow.

It's very hard to suggest a topic without any idea of what you're interested in.
How about dogs? Why do Shih Tzu pups eat their food when you scatter it on the floor but not if it's in the dish?
Or it could be an opinion research topic like, Is it a blessing that you lose your memory as you get older?
Or, Did the Welland Canal follow some water route?

if the project can be on anything i would say that the dispute between hunters and animal rights groups would be a good one. you can find lots of info on the Internet.
