I know this might be gross to anyone who can't be an adult about it, but how can I stay feeling fresh while I'm pregnant. It seems that an hour after I take a shower, I feel dirty again, sweating all over and just not fresh, ya know? How can I keep myself feeling fresh throughout the day. It's really quite uncomfortable sitting it this office chair all day and having to go wipe it away or fix myself once an hour. Too much information? sorry lol

I found that disposable sanitary products are the *cause* of odor, not the solution for it. I switched to cloth menstrual products years ago when I switched to cloth diapers, and learned that there is very little, if any, odor when using cotton products. There are some very expensive brands out there, such as Lunapads, Gladrags, etc. but it is very simple to sew your own. I have several cotton "panty liners" that are great for daily use, and help to keep me feeling much fresher than disp. panty liners ever did.

I would take moist wipes with me in my purse and freshen up that way whenever I used the bathroom.

There is a type of spray (pump, not aerosol) deodorant that is just a natural salt/mineral water spray, called "Naturally Fresh" Spray Mist. I've found it at Walgreen's, Kroger's, and a few other stores. I tried that and added a few drops of lavender essential oil to make it smell nice (it has NO scent otherwise), and use it for an "intimate" deodorant during the summer months when I feel icky and sweaty. It seems to help cut down on the sweating and moistness.

I hope some of this helps!

Not gross for those of us who are moms and know all about it! I highly recommend buying a package of carefree pantiliners (the thin ones that are scented). Put one on after your shower, then take an extra couple to work with you in your purse so that you can change it throughout the day if needed. These help ALOT. And for extra freshness, you can take a little travel pack of wipes, like Charmin or Cottonelle wipes. They also make some that they sell in the feminine isle at the supermarket. And if you are having any problems with your deoderant, well... failing you? I recommend using Certain Dry. You can buy it at walgreens, cvs, etc, and you only need to use it about 2 nights a week. It really helps you not sweat, and you still use your regular deoderant during the day. Good luck, hope this helps! With the warmer weather coming soon, you'll need some of these things! Take care :)

I had an issue with this as well, although I'm sure no one really noticed. I used pantiliners as well, but also carried around baby wipes whenever I felt really icky. After a few weeks, it went away. I'm now 28 weeks and feel fine. The first trimester seemed to be the worst for me. Try to keep a healthy diet and drink lots of water, as well.

I know what you mean, and being at work, you cant change your panties as easily as you could if youre home, but yes, I agree with the other mommys/ ladies on here. Try lightly scented panty-liners... but DONT use tampons, they say that tampons can bring bacteria into you and can be pretty dangerous. it even says in the directions that if you think/are pregnant, not to use them. just be safe, and now Always even has the "fresh wipes" for down there..you might try using those when you go to the bathroom. Idk. Good luck and God bless!!!

Sadly, It is one of those 'female things' we have to deal with.
All above are right ... drinking more water, panty liners (not tampons), wearing cotton panties (avoid tight clothing too) ...
I suggest baby wipes over dry toilet paper but I would speak to OB before using commercial douches ...

BUT also, watch your sugar intake as well.
Besides the risk of gestational diabetes, pregnant women are prone to tooth decay (much of your calcium is diverted to the baby) and they get yeast infections very easily
(again, proper hydration can help to avoid this, drink lots of water)
God bless ... good health and good luck

My doctor recommended using witchhazel down there...I haven't tried it yet, but he says that it can greatly help with the odor.

Have you gotten it check just to rule out that it's not an infection?

Otherwise you sound pretty normal! Pregnant women have a lot more discharge and it can seem pretty smell down there!

I had a similar problem. I asked my OB/Gyn about it, and she told me that any strong odors down there come from dehydration (since the baby takes pretty much all that you put into your body), if it isn't from an infection. I didn't have any infection, so I started drinking lots more water. In about two days, no more odor. Hope that helps. :)

Don't be sorry, I know exactly what you mean, i feel the same way. Go and buy those SUMMERS EVE spray you can spray on your body and on your panties. And also they make them in wipes as well. They work wonderful and you really feel refreshed. Good Luck! :-)
