Marian Keyes is good especially Watermelon, Lucy Sullivan gets married and Rachels holiday. All three have funny parts. I also love reading Jane Green and have all her books. Josie Lloyd and Emlyn Rees, Sophie Kinsella though I like the shopaholic series but the main character can be a bit immature and self involved at times.
Tescos and Asda are really good for Chick lit. Ive just read a book called Getting rid of Matthew which was very good.
Im 25 by the way.

Maeve Binchy is actually really good. Definitely not just for old ladies - a bit rude to ask a question then be dismissive of the answerer. Sophie Kinsella is actually vapid rubbish, but perhaps more your speed. Marian Keyes is good, as is Jenny Colgan, Chris Manby has her moments...
I think the label chick lit is often used as an excuse to dismiss and devalue women's writing - people should worry less about labels and more about whether books have something worthwhile to say and contain emotional truth.
I'm 28 by the way. Although I fail to see the relevance of this as to what I read.

Anything by Lani Diane Rich (like The Comeback Kiss) or Alesia Holliday (like Seven Ways to Lose Your Lover) is wonderful--fun reads but with enough substance to sink your teeth into.
Lani's latest, The Fortune Quilt, is just out and it made me laugh and cry and I couldn't put it down.
In fact, all of the Literary Chicks write really good chick lit:
Michelle Cunnah
Whitney Gaskell
Alesia Holliday
Beth Kendrick
Eileen Rendahl
Lani Diane Rich

funny you should ask becuase i just got turned on to this series that i normally wouldnt like (becuase honestly im not that into chic lit) but these are super funny and well written. All the books by Janet Evanovich. she writes the Stephanie Plum series of books (One for the Money Two for the Dough...they all have numbers in the titel) and they are Hysterical, smart action filled books. It has a great female lead, who starts bounty hunting and gets mixed up with her highschool crush/nemisis/hottie. They are just good easy funny reads. I highly recommend and i am typically very picky about books.

The Shopaholic series of books by Sophie Kinsella
Carrie Pilby by Caren Lissner
Stupid and Contagious by Caprice Crane
Life A La Mode by Linda Lenhoff
Babe in Toyland by Eugenie Olson
Everyone Else's Girl by Megan Crane
Separation Anxiety by Karen Brichoux (anything by her, actually.)
Those are my personal favorites. Everyone else will tell you Bridget Jones's Diary, which I enjoyed but isn't the best that's out there.

Baggage, and Cuban Heels - both by Emily Barr. Well written. When you want to move on from the chick-lit, try Douglas Kennedy and Nicholas Sparks - both very good.

Anything by Sophie Kinsella
She has written a series on books about a shopaholic who gets herself into all sorts of trouble spending too much.
They are fantastic!
She has also done a book called un-domestic goddess, which is a really good read.
When she brings a new book out i can't put it down till I've read it.
