Are Countries in Asia and South America considering free trade agreements with the U.S. for fear of loosing suport on other issues? The U.S. gov. signs so called free trade contracts then only follows their own writen agreements if it suits them. Even ignoring their own and international courts rulings against them so they can keep others money. Am I missing part of the picture ? If so fill in the blank canvas for me.

They are considering a free trade agreement similar to NAFTA, but this one is AFTA. And we all know how lopsided NAFTA is, so I really don't see AFTA being any better. Which brings me to my question:

Why can't we have fair trade in lieu of free trade?

you are canadian, so clearly capitalism, free trade, and free markets must be difficult for you to understand. what would be better is to restrict NAFTA. i am tired of those canadians trashing the US, the begging to come here looking for a job. we should be putting up a wall on the northern border instead of the southern, because frankly, canadians are the leading producers of smug on the planet.

Trade creates value, so anything which increases trade is beneficial. Any country which imposes restrictions on trade is cutting off its nose to spite its face.
