Poppers, commonly known as amyl nitrate, is a heart accellerant which causes a brief yet intense euphoria when inhaled.
The legality of poppers in the US is unfamiliar to me, but here in Canada, they are sold as Jungle Juice, Rush, Nitro, etc and are most readily available in most sex shops or some clubs. As I said, they are inhaled and are temporary in their effect, but like any substance, abuse can lead to certain undesirable side effects: heart palpitations, headache, nausea.
Addiction to poppers is not common although not unheard of. They are technically a drug and should never be used if you are on any heart medication or penile enhancement drugs like Viagra or Cialis.
Finally, I should tell you that from time to time I myself have used them and I do enjoy them, but again, sparingly and never to the point of overindulgence.

Poppers used to be Amyl Nitrate, people used them for heart conditions, now it's video head cleaner, yes it's legal

Yes they are legal, they might make your mouth burn a little and you might gain a few lbs, no they aren't addictive and no they don't class as a drug the jalepenos aren't that hot!
