Ask your friends at school what kind of topics are interesting.
Also, you could write about some stuff that is going on in your area, like concerts, clubs, festivals, sporting events. Maybe you can do an article about places to eat before prom or stuff you can do on prom night. Also maybe an article about teen driving-like being safe and restrictions for teen drivers. Also you could do an article about music, tv, or movies. ie. most popular, reviews, or just some info about it. Plus you could do articles about places to hang out or places to go on a date. Also you could write an article informing kids on how to register to vote. Google for local info in your state.

You can right about the First Amendment freedom of speech and the huge protest rally and how it is a part of free speech. The protest rally is on the 17th and the marchers are going to the Pentagon. There are many groups you could get photos from like A.N.S.W.E.R, The World Can't Wait, and other groups. You can write them and ask why they are protesting and if it will make a difference. This way you do not have to take any sides. I have another idea but it is way off the charts, it is about Wild Mustangs. Yes horses and how they are running wild in America and how many are getting killed. You can talk about the adoption program. The other idea is about food. You can talk about some important food teens like to eat and whats in it. Even Ketchup. How about a pizza recipe you could visit a pizzeria and take pictures of the various processes of making a pizza teens would love that. I hope this at least gets your creative juices flowing

Write about the school sports teams, write about cool club events, write about any awards your school may have recently received, events coming up, pep rallies, school spirit,
You could do a piece on the cafeteria food, and you could be biased. Find out how many calories are in an average meal prepared by your cafeteria, then compare it to a healthy daily intake for high school students. You could go in several directions here. For more ideas, you may e-mail me!
