What does it mean when a guy takes his hat off and offers it to a lady ? I know these seems kind of a weird question, but I destinctly remember that it means something in certain cultures.

well ive never heard of a guy giving it to a lady... but when you take off your hat it shows respect

Not giving it to her. You are taking it off as a sign of respect and honor. Back in the day a lot more people wore hats. When you took your hat off you were recognizing her as not just another face in the crowd.

The true signs of gentlemens respect to a lady. Like opening the door for her also is very much of a gentlemen. It makes me feel special and makes you proud to be a woman.And i guess he feels he likes being a man. But that is almost written in books and later a movie. It,s so rare that where did you see this in the deep south that maybe just maybe it happens.
