I'm a college student, and one that makes good grade. I can't find an internship yet because I've only in my third semester.

I need the cash and is considering applying to become a waiter.

Is waiter too "low" a job for college students though? Especially ones that always make the Dean's List?

There is nothing wrong with waiting tables. Why do you consider it a "low" job at all? Waiting tables is a great way to make money, especially for college students. For someone on the deans list , it concerns me that you already look down on people in the industry.

why not? if you can do it. it will be good money most likely and it will only sharpen up your personal, hospitality and people skills. it's a good idea. then when you do your resume, you dont have to put the waiter jobs on it ( unless you will be applying for hospitality type job in the future) or you can put it on your resume under "other experience". goo dluck!

Do whatever you can for now, give it six months..Get a waiter job in the business district and keep your ears perked for job openings. Don't be afraid to speak to your clientele.

If anything, you'll learn a lesson inn humility and manners....

no job is too low to do, it will only help your resume and show possible employer your ability to get your hands dirty and try different things. Plus, any money to help is better than no money at all.
