It varies from woman to woman. Stress, diet and hormal changes will affect when you ovulate. Some women tend to naturally ovulate in the beginning of her cycle (right after a period) and some towards the end. Typically, in a 28 day cycle, a woman will ovulate around day 14. Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility for more details and to learn exactly when it is that you ovulate (if you are a woman that is).

If you have a normal 28 day menstrual cycle then you should ovulate on or about the 14th day from the brginning of your cycle. The first day of your period would be day one of your cycle. Ovulation would take place on day 14 and the egg will live for 3 days.
