Camping, Fishing, Spelunking (sp?), visit some of the
cool historic sites of early America and the Civil War
Get out to the coast and hunt seashell, paint landscapes --
don't know, what you're in the mood for, but there's no
reason to be bored or idle.

Christian youth group (that limits you), but, definitely stop by New York and check out a Broadway play (Spamalot is my favorite), see Times Square at night or visit the Statue of Liberty. Depending on the time of year, you can do different things in Connecticut (foliage walks, wine trails, etc.) Try some lobster in Maine, some chowder in Boston and some maple syrup on your pancakes in Vermont. Catch a Yankees or Red Sox game. You can also mountain climb in New Hampshire (Mount Monadnock is my favorite). Visit some museums along the way (New York and Boston have great ones!) The possibilities are endless. Have fun!

Well some of the biggest cities in the US are in that region - New York, Washington DC, Boston, Philadelphia. How much time do you have to spend there?

A trip to NYC is always fun, it's an amazing city and there's loads to do there - Times Square, Broadway shows, Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, great museums, shopping... I've never been to Washington but I'm sure it's also a cool place to visit for young people, more on the educational side maybe.

Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens in Va, The Smithsonian Institute in DC, NYC is great, lots to do: Statue of Liberty, Broadway Shows, Empire State Building, Times Square, Shopping, Central Park. Downtown Boston is fun, it has a lot of historic stuff, a great place to walk around, see the boston harbor. White water rafting is big in that area. Google will be able to give you some great spots to see. These are just places i've been and enjoyed

The eastern US is pretty vast - ya gotta be more specific, however, NJ has everything you could want: its close to NYC, Philly, Boston, Washington D.C.; its got beaches (the shore!), boardwalks, rural country areas with vineyards, fleamarkets, antiquing, places to ski, amusement parks, recreational lakes and rivers. There are plenty of concert venues, not to mention Atlantic City, and some of the best food establishments (and variety!) you could want. I should know, I'm a Jersey Girl...
