Why do you say something cute, like a watch or purse? What makes it cute?

I guess what surprises me is that I hear this all the time whenever I am in a store walking by. It seems to be universal. Just once I want to hear, "That is complete crap." By the way I most often hear this near the jewelry section. I am not a weirdo, I just have to pass there on my way to the toys.

lol...what on earth are you talking about, why do we think a specific thing is cute? Am assuming you are giving a watch or purse as an example and my mind is just fried from loosing an hour of sleep...
It depends on each person's taste. What I think is cute isn't always going to be cute to my friends.

I don't know it's just what we say. Something is cute if we like it pretty much. Rarely do I say something is pretty, or any other adjective, I just use the word "cute" for something I like the look of. Does that help?
I can't tell you what makes something cute...that is dependent on each individual's taste. My friend may not think something is "cute" that I think is cute. You see?

It could be something about the look that we like. I've complimented girls on their look or purses or watches before.

we say something is cute when we just want you to spend your cash and buy it whether we like it or not .. to show how much you care for us..
