There are demonstration PC CDs that will teach you and run your through the programs. Sometimes your local library or college will have a copy of these that you can check out. Or you can buy them online.

College mostly teaches hardware and software design, not much in operation like excel & windows.
People learn those by reading the manuals that come with the program.

Buy the windows for dummies or attend a community college, the class will only be a few hundred.

Buy a used book from the collage book store, and read it. That's how i learned it..
