It saddens me to think there are so many people who actually believe the garbage that is coming from this administration. With all of the scandals (Libby, veteran care, to name a few of the current ones) that are coming to light, how can anyone believe anything coming from this presidency? It's very scary.

Making generalisations about any group of people is always wrong. I am an American and I am not stupid, nor ignorant. I see the wrongs being done and I have voiced my opinions. Many other Americans have done likewise. Unfortunately, those in power do not care to listen.

Do not blame all the people of a country for the behaviours of their leaders. John Howard (Australia), Tony Blair (UK), and many other world leaders are not exactly doing what is best for their people, but should we blame the people. No, individuals, regardless of nationality should be judged as individuals. Some will be ignorant, some complacent and some will be guilty of supporting stupidity. Judge them as they are... individuals.

your question would make more sense if it were asked in a "politically acceptable manner" and you will deserve then many good answers. there is no ignorance in most of the American intellectuals. it is just that the opportunity to speak up and the courage to stand up to one's own views has not come forward -- so far. it will come. sooner than later, one hopes. true many errors were made in the Iraq-i debacle and books will be written by insiders --after the facts. until then, i am sorry to state we have the bear the direct and indirect consequences. case still open.
