I got off birth control in July of 2006. I got a period in November 2006 and got another one in January 2007. We are looking to have a baby but I am so irregular. How long does it normally take for a women to get back into her regular cycle after getting off birth control? Thanks ya'll.

Depends on your body, your genetics, what brand/strength of pill you took.
I came off the pill 3 years ago and STILL am not corrected. My cycle is sooo messed up. I kept telling my gyn and she was like 'it's normal'....blah, blah, blah... My body 'forgot' how to make it's own hormones so I have to get injections now. Nice, huh??
I am getting ready to see this doctor and get it all straightened out.. www.hotzehealth-wellness.com The longer I work with mainstream doctors who REALLY don't know anything...the farther away from having a baby I get.
The fact that you got off it so long ago would indicate that SOMETHING is not right. Usually takes 3 months to get the pill/any medicine out of your system.

It takes up to a year for your body to get back to normal! If you are trying to get pregnant, I'd like to suggest the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler MPH. She talks about getting pregnant after getting off the pill and has you chart your fertility to help you with that. It's a great book. Good luck! It just might take a little while (and the book mentions exactly why!).

It would really depend on the pill you take. Some are high doses of hormones, while others are low. When I went off the pill to get pregnant. It only took me a month and a half. You should probably talk to your obgyn about it to so you will know what to expect.
