There are now so many laws just wondering if people think that soon enough most people will spend dome time in jail.

I'm 21 and have been there twice for stupid things - theft/stolen goods and a DUI. I know I was wrong both times and don't want to go back but you don't always think about what you're doing until it's too late. I don't think I would cope well with prison and don't think I would do anything to end up there but it's easier than people think to end up in jail these days.

It's relatively easy to stay out of trouble for most people. There are a lot of laws, but most of them are common sense.

I don't think most people will. A greater many more people will be victims of crime rather than the offenders. But I will admit to spending an hour or two in a jail cell followed by 72 hours in a driving intervention program (not jail...although had I voluntarily left it would have been jail) for a dui some 4+ years ago. One of my brothers spent about 9 months in prison after being falsely accused and my younger brother seems to be taking a trip to the county jail every few months thanks to his choice in women. Sad part is, our dad is a cop.

By the way, when I did my program, I was amazed at the number of people, the variety of people that were there with me. Not only that, but to find out who all I had this in common with...kinda shocking really! People I would never have thought in a million years were among them!

Theft and DUI aren't stupid things. Stealing from a company or person is wrong...very wrong. And DUI isn't stupid-you could've killed someone. Laws are meant to protect everyone. MOST people won't end up in prison but people like you-who think laws are stupid and don't take responsibility for your own actions-do end up in jail or prison. Don't break the law at all any more and don't think that you can break the law once and get away with it. A lot of criminals think their odds of getting caught are slimmer than they are and that's what gets them in trouble.

No, most people will not end up in jail.

People don't end up in jail, like by accident. They make some stupid decision and they pay the price for it.

You have been arrested 2 more times than me in 10 less years on the planet. And I do think about what I am doing before I do it because I am responsible. That is the start of responsibility.

Get your head out of you @ss.

If we continue at the rate we are going in 25 years half the country will be in jail or prison and the other half will be taking care of them. We make more and more laws with jail as punishment, more and more people breaking the law and between the two we soon will have sooo many people in jail that its hard to imagine.

Um, well let's see I have children your age and I have never been to jail....never been arrested.....so will everyone go jail at some point - NO!

Only people who do stupid things and don't have the brain power to rationalize before they do things. You don't think that us "non-jailbirds" go to bars and drink? Sure we do - I enjoy a ladies night every now and then, but before I order a drink I make sure I have driver. Do most people steal? umm - no that's another no brainer - if it's not yours don't take it.

I think the jails will be filled with stupid people who did stupid things and blame society for the fact that the laws don't take into account that their stupid. Personally, jail is a good place for them - keeps them out of the breeding gene pool for a bit.

No - most people will not spend time in jail. The majority of us are law abiding citizens.

I am of an age where I retired a year ago.....

In my whole life, I have never known anyone in my circle of friends or work environment or family who has ever been in jail.....

People who are responsible in their life and obey the rules, don't get arrested and jailed.

Well Jamie, I've nearly made it to 40 and luckily have never been in jail. That doesn't mean I've never broken any laws. I like to think I break them responsibly.......;-)

Most thoughtful, responsible people think about the consequences of their actions so I don't agree with your analysis.
