maybe because we are brought up on a dose that SEX is inherently bad per se.i do not know about guys,but gals are constantly told this.they are told that SEX is only for procreation.maybe,this is the reason that sexy chatting is considered bad in India.perhaps if we are made to respect our sexuality,it would make for healthy sexual individuals and this may also reduce extramarital affairs.it would also inculcate healthy friendships between members of opposite sex sans sexual overtones or undertones.

make a puncture in a tube, and slowly all the air would drain out. Allowing sexy chatting would puncture one's minds, giving rise to fantasies, desires, lustful thoughts, etc. To avoid further disintegration of ourselves, the roots have to be avoided. Sexy chatting is one of such roots of evils. Hence it's considered bad. It does not harm you physically, but mentally you are out of your normal state.
