food mesurment?

A serving size for

rice = 1/2 cup,

does anyone know how many grams or OZ in a 1/2 cup?

I'm using the 8 oz cup to mesure

4 oz in a half a cup.

If you're talking about mass or weight, it depends on what the substance is. If you're talking about fluid ounces, there are 8 of them in a cup, so that would make 1/2 a cup 4 fluid ounces. Grams are a measurment of mass, so for cooking, you wouldn't be able to use grams unless you measured them on a scale.
