Insert the disk in your drive, restart your pc press F8 while booting, this will take you to the boot menu and choose boot from cd, then follow the instructions on your monitor.

First you need to make sure that your computer can handle it, if it's over a year old I wouldn't even considering upgrading to vista. Not to mention the fact that certain programs and devices, such as printers aren't playing nice with vista. I would wait six months before doing anything with vista.

after buying the CD:
1. insert CD in drive
2. When your computer is on press F6 at the beggining of startup
3.choose to run the CD
4. follow instructions to install vista

Bend over and get ready for, well, I won't go there. It sucks, but if you have the disk, just put it in. If you are purchasing it online, follow the instructions. You can get it at microsoft.com. I really don't recommend it just yet, though.
